Bendon
Bendon moved to a new purpose built facility near Auckland Airport. Initially the project was for the new office building, however they soon moved their warehouse facility to site and extended the office building. ITL installed a Systimax Category 6 system into the site, the office building was presented onto a Systimax Visipatch frame in the main server room and the warehouse was presented onto patch panels. The two buildings were linked together using OM3 fibre, as well as the cabinets within the warehouse. The office building consisted of offices plus a large open plan area with a high ceiling stud, with exposed cable trays and dropper spines from the cable trays down to the desk pods. The cabling system utilised consolidation points located on the trays to help facilitate future rearrangements of the desk configurations, which has occurred a number of times since the installation was completed. This has meant no new cables have had to be run from the server room, only from the closest consolidation point to the desk outlet. The warehouse required three cabinets to be installed within the warehouse itself due to it’s size, as well as outlets in the warehouse office area and at normal height within the warehouse, there was a requirement for external outlets in the truck bay at a high level and outlets at high level within the warehouse for wireless access points and specialist sorting equipment. The design of the warehouse meant cabling and backbones could be run on the purloins, however ITL and the electrical company had to work closely to ensure cable pathways were separated and protected where required to ensure standards compliance. The system is covered by a Systimax 20-year warranty. |
